North Central Montana AHEC

The North Central Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is a grant funded program with an office established in Fairfield in January 2011 and is affiliated with MHA, an Association of Montana Healthcare Providers. The mission is to improve the supply and distribution of health care professionals, with an emphasis on primary care, through community / academic / educational partnership, to increase access to quality health care.

The overall purpose of the regional centers is to connect health professions education to rural and underserved communities.  Programs developed at the centers will focus on three major objectives and activities:

  1. Encourage youth from underserved areas/populations to pursue health careers
  2. Encourage health professionals to select employment in rural/underserved areas
  3. Provide CE/CME to health professionals employed in rural/underserved areas

We connect students to healthcare careers, professionals to communities, and communities to better health.
